Richard Coe moved to Las Vegas in December of 2004. Before that, he was stationed in Aviano, Italy and Kunsan, Korea with the U.S. Air Force. After 10 years of flying F-16s and traveling the world, Richard decided that the time was right to get out and focus on family and other opportunities such as Monarch Sky LLC.

When Rick moved to Las Vegas, he searched for an FBO or local flying club where he could rent quality aircraft. Unfortunately, due to daily minimum hours, the costs associated with renting airplanes and actually going somewhere quickly outpaced the utility that they offered. Based on conversations with friends and acquaintances, he knew that there was a lot of interest in GA flying, if it was only more affordable and convenient to travel. Thus, Monarch Sky was born! Richard's goal is to provide the best flight training or flying club experience possible, while providing aircraft to rent at an affordable price. We do this by meticulously maintaining quality aircraft and keeping costs to an absolute minimum.

Though the company has been around for several years, Richard only recently started devoting his full time attention to it. Between 2007 and 2008, the Club has grown from 6 Members to more than 100, with more joining every month. In 2008, the company opened its second location at Henderson Executive Airport. At Henderson, Monarch Sky focuses on accelerated training, though the company still offers a variety of aircraft for rent. Henderson also stands out for the quality of the facilities, featuring a state-of-the-art G-1000 simulator, fully stocked pilot shop, dedicated classrooms and flight planning rooms.  In 2009, Monarch Sky began offering a full range of helicopter certificates in ratings in their Robinson R-22s and R-44s.
