About Us

Thank you for your interest in Monarch Sky. We started our aviation journey as a local Flying Club and though we have evolved to provide a variety of products and services, we still are a Flying Club at heart. We began at North Las Vegas airport (KVGT), though we now have a second location at Henderson Executive airport as well (KHND). Monarch Sky Flying Club began when the Owner was searching for an aircraft to rent and take his family to San Diego for a long weekend. He was dismayed to find that everyone in town wanted to charge a minimum number of hours per day to rent an aircraft overnight, no matter how much he flew. The costs ended up being prohibitive and while he understood that this might be necessary for high volume training aircraft, he did not see why this policy applied to high performance, non-training aircraft. He ended up buying his own Cherokee Six (which is still in the fleet today!) and was not surprised to find that quite a few people wanted to rent it. This was the beginning of Monarch Sky.

Since then, the Flying Club has expanded to provide quite a few additional services, such as flight training (fixed wing and helicopters), aircraft maintenance, aircraft sales and a variety of other services. In 2008, we became a certified Diamond Flight Center and acquired a modern fleet of Diamond aircraft, most of which feature the latest safety and avionics technology. Aircraft such as the DA40 Diamond Star and DA42 Twin Star utilize the latest generation of G-1000 integrated avionics system, which puts everything from active traffic warning to XM satellite weather at your fingertips.

The company now has 2 divisions, Monarch Sky Flying Club and the Monarch Sky Diamond Flight Center (DFC). All of the Part 61 and Part 141 accelerated training is done under the DFC, while all Part 61 self-paced training is done through the Flying Club. Both divisions offer the same high quality instruction and access to the same equipment. Many choose to join the Flying Club and enroll in the DFC for thier training. Despite our growth over the last few years, we have never strayed far from our roots. Some of the benefits that Club Members still enjoy include:

  • No minimum hours required for cross-country trips
  • Aircraft can be reserved up to 7 days without question
  • 24 hour access to aircraft through coded entry lockboxes
  • Full access to our Membership services
  • Modern, well equipped and well maintained aircraft
  • Top-notch, professional full time instructors
  • Participation in our quarterly group fly-ins
